For those of us who have never had the opportunity to enjoy the perks associated with flying business class, we thought inquiring minds would want to know.

Flying sure isn't what it used to be, and sometimes you don't have an option to choose First versus Business Class. It's often uncomfortable to be the middle person in a three-seater, and with no disrespect to anyone, it's also a challenge to be seated next to the Pillsbury Dough Boy (or girl).

For those of us who have never had the opportunity to enjoy the perks associated with flying business class, we thought inquiring minds would want to know. So, here's what you may have been missing if you've been hanging with most of us in the economy seats.

It's important to note that everything is subject to variation based on the airline, but generally speaking, most airlines have upped the ante on business class to the point that there aren't a lot of reasons to upgrade to first class. Having more room, possibly better service and food that can be a bit tastier are the primary differences.

9. All that space is mine? Relax, there's plenty of room!

8. My carry on doesn't go overhead? No, it fits perfectly, and I can access it whenever I want without getting up or bothering my neighbors.

7. What? My shoes have their own spot? A lovely compartment all for my shoes, so I don't have to wear shoes.

6. Amenity Kits? And I don't have to give you anything in return; it's free? Yep, socks, skincare products, toothbrush and toothpaste and hair products.

5. The seats do what? They lie flat plus I get my own pillow and blanket! I'm in heaven.

4. A personal movie theater? A reasonably large touchscreen television that runs popular shows and new movies! Do I sleep or watch tv? Tough choice!

3. There's a menu? We have options? Yep, a multi-course, freshly prepared meal.

2. Wine, champagne, that's free?! Wow, a glass of relaxing wine before I stretch out in my cozy, yet spacious chair that lies flat. Brilliant!

1. Do I smell croissants? Yes, and orange juice, coffee, toast, and jam. What a way to wake up and start my day and on an airplane.
